Pantheon Josephine Baker Ceremony

On November 30, 2021, I had the honor of working as the Animation and Art Direction Supervisor and Technical Content Director for a monumental projection mapping project during the state ceremony commemorating Josephine Baker's induction into the Panthéon in Paris.
This historic event marked the first time a Black woman was honored in the Panthéon, celebrating Baker's remarkable contributions as an entertainer, French Resistance member, and civil rights activist.
Working at Magic Bird Studio Paris, our team collaborated closely with Shortcut Events, under the direction of Lionel Laval, to design and stage the ceremony. The projection featured a dynamic display of images from Baker's life, illuminating the Panthéon's façade and captivating both the live audience and national television viewers.
This tribute not only highlighted Baker's enduring legacy but also showcased the power of visual storytelling in honoring cultural icons.
